Jade Medley
Medley was NJCU’s bright spot after an otherwise disappointing performance at the Geutle Invitational at Catholic University on September 6-7, earning All-Tournament Team accolades. She is now seventh in program history with 741 kills.
Despite a 0-4 weekend of results for NJCU, she produced 4.10 points, 2.80 kills, 1.73 digs and 1.53 blocks per set while hitting at a .182 attack rate.
The 5-foot-9 Psychology and Criminal Justice major’s best performance was a near triple-double in a 3-1 loss to host Catholic as she put away 12 kills (12-9-30, .100) with nine blocks (five solo, four assisted), eight digs and one service ace. She added a 16-kill showing while hitting .243 (16-7-37) with eight digs and three blocks in a 3-2 loss to Marywood University.
Medley also collected seven kills, a .417 attack clip (7-2-12), five solo blocks and five digs in a 3-0 loss to Cabrini and tallied seven kills, six blocks (three solo, three assisted) and five digs in a 3-0 decision against Marymount University (Va.)
The team tri-captain is a two-sport starter for NJCU in volleyball and basketball. She previously was Women’s Athlete of the Week twice in 2011 (October 3 and 24) and three times in 2012 (September 2 and 9 and October 14). She also won the award for basketball on December 17, 2012.
