JERSEY CITY, N.J. (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | There will be two changes this week to the
New Jersey City University baseball and softball schedules.
Tuesday's New Jersey Athletic Conference home softball doubleheader vs. Rutgers University-Newark at the Thomas M. Gerrity Athletic Complex has been postponed 24 hours and will be played on Wednesday, April 27 at 3 p.m. It will be Senior Day and NJCU will honor its three seniors—center fielder/shortstop
Thalia Garcia (Ridgefield, N.J./North Bergen), three-sport athlete and utility player
Deseree Johnson (Red Bank, N.J./Monmouth Regional) and senior right-handed pitcher/third baseman
Jayla Lee Vega (Hoboken, N.J./Hoboken).
Meanwhile, the NJCU baseball team will make-up a previous postponement of an April 3 non-conference game at St. Joseph's College (LI) on Sunday, May 1 at 11:30 a.m. in Patchogue, N.Y. That makeup will allow NJCU to play a full 40-game regular season schedule in baseball for the first time since 2008 and just the second time ever (2006).
