JERSEY CITY, N.J. (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | Stockton University ended the first quarter on a 34-0 run and scored 39 straight points to seize control of the game on a historic night for the Ospreys which reached two milestones in a 102-31 win over the
New Jersey City University women's basketball team, on January 10 at the John J. Moore Athletics and Fitness Center ("Coach Charlie Brown Court").

The Ospreys (8-7, 4-4 NJAC) shot 49.3 percent from the floor overall while limiting the Gothic Knights (0-10, 0-7 NJAC) to 21 percent shooting. Stockton scored 54 points off of NJCU's 30 turnovers (54-5 margin) while outscoring the Gothic Knights, 52-8, in the paint. Stockton also had a 54-23 rebounding margin.

With the win, Stockton head coach
Joe Fussner earned his 400th win in 26 seasons as a collegiate head coach. Meanwhile, senior guard
Lea Mendolla (Nutley, N.J.) became the program's career leader in three pointers made as she scored 25 points (10-15 FG), including nine from beyond the arc (3-6 FG), and forced five steals in 22 minutes of action. Her second three of the game was the 162nd of her career, breaking an 11-year-old Stockton program record.

For NJCU, freshman forward/center
Gianna Benacquista (Belleville, NJ/Belleville) scored nine of her season-high 11 points (3-7 3FG) from downtown and grabbed six points, while freshman guard
Arielle Cortes (Bayonne, NJ/Bayonne) collected seven points and dished out five assists.

Also for the Ospreys, senior forward Sasha Williams
(Cherry Hill, N.J.), a three-time NJAC Player of the Week, secured a double-double with 15 points on 5-of-8 shooting and 11 rebounds in only 14 minutes. She added four assists and two blocks. Sophomore center
Mckenna Forry (Waterford, N.J.) added 13 points (5-9 FT) and grabbed seven rebounds in an efficient 16 minutes of work. Freshman forward
Madison Noordeloos (Hawthorne, N.J.) had four blocks.
