#NJCUWBB Falls to Ramapo in Final NJAC Home Contest

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | Ramapo College outscored the New Jersey City University women's basketball team in the third quarter, 21-11 as it defeated NJCU, 60-30 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game on February 10 inside the John J. Moore Athletics and Fitness Center ('Coach Charlie Brown Court').
 
Ramapo (7-17, 4-13 NJAC) shot 36.1 percent (22-61) on the night as its bench outscored the NJCU (0-20, 0-17 NJAC) reserves, 49-6 and held a 24-4 points in the paint advantage. The Roadrunners outrebounded the Gothic Knights, 54-37. NJCU shot 11-of-64 overall.
 
Junior point guard Jesenia Montalvo (Hillside, NJ/Bayonne) scored 10 points, secured five boards and dished out five assists. Freshman center Gianna Benacquista (Belleville, NJ/Belleville) finished the game eight rebounds, five points, four blocks and three steals, while sophomore forward Kayla Clarke (East Rutherford, NJ/Becton Regional) and freshman guard Pamela Ramnarain (Orange, NJ/Port Saint Lucie (Fla.)) each had six rebounds to highlight NJCU's performers.
 
Freshman guard Amber Sagan (Great Meadows, N.J) led the Roadrunners with 12 points on 4-of-9 shooting in 18 minutes off the bench. Senior forward Kelly McNulty (Manalapan, N.J.) added nine points (4-6 FG), while freshman guard Erin Fischer (Morristown, N.J.)  registered eight rebounds and five assists. 14 different players saw action and 10 grabbed at least four rebounds and nine of them scored against NJCU.
 
OF NOTE:
  • Series: 71st meeting. Ramapo leads the all-time series, 43-28.
 
UP NEXT?:
NJCU travels to Stockton University on Wednesday, February 14 (6 p.m.) for its season finale. It will be the 63rd meeting between the two schools. The Ospreys lead the all-time series, 49-13 and defeated the Gothic Knights 102-31 on January 10 in Jersey City, N.J.
