JERSEY CITY, N.J. (NJCUGothicKnights.com)  |  For the third time in 42 days this season, a
New Jersey City University men's soccer highlight has been featured nationally on ESPN's
SportsCenter and for the second time, the clip is from sophomore forward
Edric De Paula (Blairstown, NJ/Newark Tech).

De Paula's highlight against Stockton University on October 26 was featured today as the No. 3 play in the country on ESPN during its morning editions of
SportsCenter at 7, 8 and 9 a.m. and again at 12 p.m.

It marks two firsts for the NJCU athletics department—the first time it's been featured on ESPN three times in the same academic year, both overall or for one sport—and the first time ever any Gothic Knight student-athlete has been featured twice on
SportsCenter.

The highlights also achieve a milestone for the second time this year for the closest consecutive appearances on the Top 10 in school history, separated by just 19 days—five days faster than NJCU's appearances on September 17 and October 10 (24 days).

In the highlight,
De Paula scored his eighth goal of the season. Senior back
Maykol Abreu's throw in from the right sideline was flicked by junior back
Nelson Segovia (North Bergen, NJ/North Bergen) into the middle of the box where
De Paula pulled off his magic in the 55th minute.

Just 19 days ago junior goalkeeper
Aldahir Cazun (Jersey City, NJ/Dickinson) was featured nationally on October 10 on its two SC@Night editions after scoring a goal from inside his own 18 on a goalie punt in the Gothic Knights' 3-0 win over Purchase College.

Meanwhile,
De Paula was previously on ESPN on September 17 as his golden goal heroics made national news as the No. 2 play on the 'Top Plays' segment after scoring on another bicycle kick in overtime to win the game.

The play is the 10th-ever known instance of an NJCU athletics highlight being featured on
SportsCenter and one of more than 15 times a Gothic Knight team or student-athlete has been chronicled by the ESPN family of networks since 2007. It's the sixth time a men's soccer highlight has appeared on ESPN.
