HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Vargas had the first opportunity of the game in the fourth minute. After winning the ball midfield, she dribbled through multiple defenders before unleashing a blast from 30 yards just high.
- In the eighth minute Camden's chipped a ball into the box and it took a high bounce off of Lee-Sam's hands. Sophomore forward Kayla de Guzman (Cherry Hill, N.J.) had a wide-open look at the net from eight yards out but hit a side-footed shot over the crossbar.
- Rutgers-Camden went up 1-0. In the 11th minute off a throw in on the left side, Calabria headed a ball towards the box that was chipped out by the Gothic Knight defense. Before the ball hit the ground, Calabria hit a side volley over the head of Lee-Sam who was off her line, and settled into the near right side.
- Rutgers-Camden increased its leads to 2-0 midway through the 24th minute. O'Rourke took a free kick from 35 yards out, slipping a short pass on the ground to Hernandez on the right side. She took one touch before lobbing a high shot over Lee-Sam's leaping arms and into the right side of the net.
- In the 30th minute, Wachira stole the ball from the defense and went in on a breakaway before uncorking a shot that Lee-Sam gobbled up.
- NJCU had a golden opportunity in the 37th minute, winning a ball in the box and sidestepping the keeper. But her off-balance shot was not hit with enough pace and Camden's defense made a team save, clearing it off the line.
- In the 41st minute, freshman forward Sam Justis (Collingswood, N.J.), seconds after entering the game, had a wide-open look after collecting a loose ball in the box. Her blast towards the far left post was denied by Lee-Sam, laying out with two hands.
- In the 50th minute, Camden went on top 3-0 as Hernandez lofted a pass from the middle of the field 45 yards out onto the feet of Calabria, who stayed onside and slipped a shot past Lee-Sam who came out to try to break it up.
- In the 54th minute, Diouf had a point-blank shot blocked in the middle of the box off a corner from Vargas.
- In the 64th minute, Bocchicchio narrowly missed the near left post on an attempt.
- Vargas had a long free kick on net smothered by Eberhardt in the 66th minute.
- In the 69th minute, O'Rourke curled a long cross from the left side onto net which Lee-Sam leaped to knock it away as it headed towards the upper right corner. Lee-Sam aggressively broke up a breakaway by Wachira moments later.
- Camden got an insurance tally in the 72nd minute. Bocchicchio took a pass from Wachira in the midfield, dribbled onto the right flank, before slipping a pass into the middle of the box to Horn, who finished high left.
- NJCU finally got on the board in the 79th minute. Vargas had the ball played back to her off her own corner, spun past two defenders towards the right endline, and curled a cross into the middle of the six before Diouf headed a shot into the upper right corner.
- Sophomore back Breana Winder (Washington Township, N.J.) had a long at the left post on a loose ball off a corner in the 89th minute before a team save on the post by junior midfielder Crystal Tepale (Passaic. NJ/Passaic County Tech) stopped it.
