JERSEY CITY, N.J. — The New Jersey City University women's volleyball team closed out home competition for the 2023 season on Tuesday night, Oct. 24, at the John J. Moore Athletics and Fitness Center (JMAC). The Gothic Knights took on New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) foe Rowan University on Coach Charlie Brown Court, but fell to the Profs in three sets.
NJCU (2-17, 0-7 NJAC) was led by sophomore right-side
Kiki Lugo (Kearny, N.J./Kearny), who notched a team-high eight kills to tie for her second-highest kill total of the season on the night against Rowan (8-16, 3-4 NJAC). A pair of rookie also led the Gothic Knights in a couple various statistical categories. Libero
Carly Everett (York, Pa./York Catholic) led all players with 12 dgs — she has double-digit digs in 12 of her 18 matches played this season — while setter
Scarlett Torres (Union City, N.J./Jose Marti STEM Academy) had a team-best 14 assists to go with nine digs and two aces.
