POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. — The New Jersey City University men's tennis team faced off with Vassar College on the road on Sunday, March 26. The Gothic Knights were competitive with the Brewers throughout, but fell by a final of 9-0.
NJCU (4-6) fell behind 3-0 in doubles play to Vassar (7-3). In singles, despite not pulling out a victory, the Gothic Knights saw some top tier matches. Junior
Nico Teynie (Rouen, France/Lycée Val de Seine) pushed his match at first singles to three sets, but fell in the 10-point tiebreak. Freshman
Pedro Caro-Accino Roca (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain/British School of Gran Canaria) dropped his first set, 6-4, at third singles and pushed the second to a tie break in the loss (7-6(6)). Sophomore
Joaquin Pluis (Buenos Aires, Argentina/Santa Felicitas) was also strong in his 6-3, 6-4, loss at fourth singles.
