GAMBIER, Ohio — The New Jersey City University women's soccer team closed up its two-game road trip in Ohio over the weekend. The Gothic Knights took on Kenyon College on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 10, but fell to the undefeated Owls, 3-0.
NJCU (1-3) sophomore keeper
Sophia Mannino (Burlington, N.J./Burlington Township) made three strong stops before Kenyon (3-0-1) struck first in the 37th to go up 1-0. The Green and Gold tried to tie it up in the 44th as sophomore midfielder
Becky Lopez (Mountain View, Calif./Mountain View) found the foot of sophomore forward
Ari Flores-Ortiz (Little Falls, N.J./Passaic Valley Regional). She sent it back to senior forward
Kim Brites (Carteret, N.J./Carteret) who found rookie forward
Bella Moore (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee) just inside the box. Moore made a nice couple of moves and sent a nice shot with her left foot on net, but it was turned aside.
Kenyon scored two more in the second in the 58th and 72nd to finish up the game, 3-0.
