UNION, N.J. — The New Jersey City University women's volleyball team faced off with New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Kean University on the road on Tuesday evening, Sept. 26. The Gothic Knights stayed with the Cougars throughout, but ultimately suffered the three-set loss (25-13, 25-14, 25-11).
NJCU (2-5, 0-2 NJAC) was led on the night by junior outside hitter
Brenda Gonzalez (Union City, N.J./Dickinson), who had a team-best eight kills with just one error on 25 swings (.280 hitting percentage). Freshman setter
Scarlett Torres (Union City, N.J./Jose Marti STEM Academy) dished out a team-high 14 assists and nearly had a double-double with a team-high-tying nine digs against the Cougars (7-6, 2-0 NJAC). Freshman libero

Katrina Nguyendon (Union, N.J./Union) notched eight digs and a pair of kills.
