The New Jersey City University women's volleyball team dropped a three-set New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) match at the John J. Moore Athletics and Fitness Center (JMAC) on Thursday night, Sept. 22, against Stockton University.
The first set was close between Jersey City (2-6, 0-3 NJAC) and Stockton (9-2, 2-0 NJAC), as the latter was up by just four points at 14-10. The Gothic Knights put together a 5-0 run to take the lead, but the Ospreys would orchestrate their own 10-1 run to take the lead right back. They would hold NJCU to just two more points and win the set 25-18.
Set two began similarly to the first, however it was NJCU that would jump out to a 13-8 lead. The Ospreys engineered a 14-1 run to assume their first lead of the set, which they would hold onto, beating the Gothic Knights by the same score as set one. The third set was controlled by Stockton who found themselves up early 16-4. The final set of the night ended 25-12 in favor of the Ospreys.
