The New Jersey City University men's and women's track and field teams have each traveled up to Boston, Massachusetts this weekend to compete in the John Terrier Classic. The Green and Gold sent a handful of athletes to the two day invitational held annually at the Boston University Track Center. Today, Jan. 26,12 Gothic Knights competed in the first day of proceedings, all of which were on the men's side, as the women's events will take place tomorrow, Saturday, Jan 27.
The most notable performance of the day came from senior captain
Jaime Tlatelpa (Jersey City, N.J., University Academy Charter), who has reached a new PR'd in each of his indoor appearances this season. Tlatelpa ran 4:31.34 seconds, eclipsing his previous best of 4:35.26, which was second best in NJCU indoor track and field history before today. Tlatelpa still holds the second best mark as well as the third, fourth, and fifth spot in the record book.
