JERSEY CITY, N.J.—The NJCU women's soccer team faced their first loss of the season, falling 3-0 to Rowan on the road on Wednesday, Oct. 2.
The Gothic Knights (4-1-4) encountered a challenging match against the unbeaten Profs (6-0-2), who dominated the match with a 21-0 advantage in shots, 13-0 in shots on target, and 11-0 in corner kicks. Rowan also managed to draw 10 offside calls throughout the game.
The Profs opened the scoring in the 27th minute, leading 1-0 at halftime. They extended their lead with goals in the 59th and 74th minutes. Junior goalkeeper
Sophia Mannino (Burlington, N.J./Burlington Township) played all 90 minutes, recording 10 saves, tying her season high.
