DANBURY, CONN. - The NJCU women's soccer team secured a scoreless draw against Western Connecticut State on Tuesday, Oct. 8.
The Wolves (7-5-2) outshot the Gothic Knights (4-2-5) 18-6, with 8 shots on target compared to NJCU's 3. Junior goalkeeper
Lorraine Valenzuela (Bayonne, N.J./Bayonne) made a notable return, playing a complete game for the first time since 2022 and recording a season-high 8 saves.

Natalia Jaramillo (Bergenfield, N.J./Bergenfield) each testing the Wolves' defense within the first 11 minutes. In the 61st minute, junior forward
Ari Flores-Ortiz (Little Falls, N.J./Passaic Valley Regional) had a chance with a header off a corner kick, but the Wolves' goalkeeper was able to make the save, keeping the match scoreless.
The match was intense, featuring 28 combined fouls and 6 yellow cards, and it resulted in NJCU's first-ever tie with Western Connecticut State, bringing their historical record to 0-3-1 against the Wolves.
