PHILADELPHIA, P.A. | The New Jersey City University (NJCU) indoor track & field teams ran at the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Indoor Championships at the UPENN Ott Center.
On the opening day, Lucy Peleaz placed 16th in the shot put with a mark of 7.66m. Raven Orange (Carteret, N.J./Carteret) punched her ticket to Friday's 60m finals with a time of 7.96, a performance that also qualified her for Regionals. Tonna Ogina (North Brunswick, N.J./Highland Park) claimed silver in the long jump, soaring to a distance of 5.37m. Like Orange, Ogina earned a spot at Regionals.
For the men, David Dewberry (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) finished 18th in the long jump with a leap of 6.12m while Johnair Gonzalez (Jersey City, N.J./William L. Dickinson) took 22nd (5.75m). In the 60m, Thad Liddell clocked 7.66 to finish 25th. The men's 4x200 relay squad of Dewberry, Isaiah Ramirez (Edison, N.J./John P. Stevens), Pratt Charles (Jersey City, N.J./University Charter), and Gerard Victor (Irvington, N.J./Donald M. Payne Tech) qualified for Regionals with a time of 1:30.15, good for seventh place.
Day 2 of the NJAC Indoor Track & Field Championships will continue on Friday, February 27 at the UPENN Ott Center.
