The mission of RKI’s Academic Success Services is to provide student-athletes with the resources and guidance needed to achieve their academic goals. Through a range of services, RKI Workshops and the ASAP Program, student-athletes are better able to transition into college, as well as balance academics and athletics.

The Rising Knight Institute (RKI) is in support of all student-athletes and their academic success by providing resources and initiatives for the overall well-being and development of every student. The Academic Support for Athletes Progress (ASAP) is structured to ensure success in the classroom by the numerous goals and incentives in place. ASAP aids student-athletes with required support and intensive academic success plans, where applicable, geared to increase academic progress through improved GPA, with specific focus on proven areas of difficulty.
  • Study Hall will be mandatory for those who meet the GPA threshold or who have been assigned as a part of their overall Student Success Plan.
  • Tutoring will be available through the NJCU HUB. Pending GPA threshold, tutoring may be mandated, but is encouraged for all.
  • Class Check-ins & Bi-weekly meetings will be implemented for all students with an academic success plan.

Per RKI, all student-athletes with a cumulative GPA of 2.00 or below are required to meet on a bi-weekly basis throughout the semester.

  • Meeting 4: Goal Setting
  • Meeting 5: Advisement & Degree Planning
  • Meeting 6: Mental Health Resources & Coping Mechanisms 
  
ACADEMIC PROBATION: Per University Standards

A student will be placed on probation for the semesters during which the student’s cumulative GPA (CGPA) falls below the following levels:

  • 1.60 CGPA after a minimum of 13 credit hours attempted  
  • 1.75 CGPA after a minimum of 24 credit hours attempted  
  • 1.85 CGPA after a minimum of 48 credit hours attempted  
  • 2.0 CGPA after a minimum of 72 credit hours attempted  
  • 2.0 CGPA is required for graduation

Unless notified otherwise, a student on probation should not enroll for more than 13 credits during the probationary semester(s). A student on probation who achieves a minimum semester grade point average of 2.0 during the probationary semesters may continue with their studies. Probation is removed when the student’s cumulative grade point average reaches the appropriate level.

   
PRIORITY REGISTRATION
All Student-athletes can utilize priority registration. This ensures student-athletes can optimize enrollment in courses compatible with practice and travel schedules. Priority Registration dates TBD per semester.
