Freshman point guard Tu'ziah Hall (Greenville, N.C./Bannecker (NC)) is an New Jersey City University Athlete of the Week for the period of January 2-8, 2017.
 
Hall, a 5-foot-6 Nursing major who has already been named New Jersey Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week five times this season, wins the NJCU weekly award for the fifth time.
 
 
Tu'ziah Hall:

• Helped NJCU score 63 points against No. 9/12 ranked Montclair State in its only game of a snow-shortened week on January 4— the most by any Montclair opponent thus far in 2016-17.
• NJCU kept it close with unbeaten Montclair, trailing by just two, 37-35, at halftime.
• Hall scored a game-high 22 points (7-17 FG), including 12 points from three on 4-of-7 shooting, before fouling out late in the fourth quarter. She added two assists in her 32 minutes and was 4-of-5 from the line.
• The freshman guard tallied at least 20 points for the fourth straight game and fifth time this season.
• Hall is averaging 17.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 2.9 steals and 0.3 blocks while starting 12 of 14 games for NJCU. She is shooting .342 from the field (82-240), .372 from three-point distance (.29-78) and .726 at the foul line (45-62).
• Thru games of January 9, she is second overall in the NJAC in steals. Hall is third overall in the league in scoring and tops among all freshmen. She also ranks fourth overall in assists—the only rookie in the Top 15—and lists seventh in three-pointers per game (2.1), ninth in free throw percentage, three-point percentage and minutes played (31.1) and 10th in assist/turnover ratio (0.8).
