NJCU women’s volleyball went 1-3 on the week, defeating Baruch College 3-2 (19-25, 25-22, 25-21, 17-25, 22-20) in a match that set the school record for the longest fifth set.
Florimon was consistently the Knights’ top attacker, reaching double figures in kills in three consecutive matches during the busy week for NJCU.
Florimon reached double figures in kills for the seventh, eighth, and ninth time in her two-year NJCU career and fifth, sixth, and seventh time this season.
Over 17 sets and four matches, she tallied 53.5 points and 48 kills, averaging 3.15 points, 2.82 kills, 1.24 digs and 0.29 blocks per set, hitting .168.
In a 3-2 loss to William Paterson on October 2, Florimon had 14 kills, following that up with the second most kills of her career (19) in a 3-2 road win over Baruch on October 4. She hit .250 in the win (19-7-48), adding two blocks.
On October 6, she planted 12 kills and hit .250 in a 3-1 road loss at Wilkes.
In that same match, Florimon added a career-high 11 digs to post her first career double-double, adding two blocks and two aces to round out a strong performance in a strong week for the junior.
On the season over 66 sets, she has averaged 3.01 points (198.5), 2.67 kills (176), 1.17 digs (77) and 0.32 blocks (2-19-21) per set.
Thru October 8, Florimon ranks ninth in the New Jersey Athletic Conference in kills per set.
