Katrina Nguyendon was named NJCU Women’s Athlete of the Week in the first week of her collegiate career. She came to NJCU as a defensive specialist but when the team needed someone to step up to set, she accepted the challenge and was a key piece in a 2-1 start to the season that included come-from-behind wins in both victories.

Nguyendon averaged 7.92 assists, 2.50 digs and a notable 0.67 service aces per set. She tallied 95 assists, 30 digs and eight aces over 12 sets. Despite having not been recruited as a setter, she committed only three ball handling errors in 12 sets.

On August 30 in NJCU’s come-from-behind 3-1 win over Saint Elizabeth, Nguyendon delivered 25 assists, eight digs and she kept CSE off balance all match, serving seven of NJCU’s 14 aces.
