Rowan University (9-1-1, 4-0-1 NJAC) overpowered the
New Jersey City University women's soccer team (4-7-0, 0-5-0 NJAC), in a New Jersey Athletic Conference night game at the Rowan Soccer Field on October 6.

Rowan, ranked No. 6 in the NCAA Division III South Atlantic Region and listed 29th nationally in the D3soccer.com poll, outshot NJCU, 40-3—17-1 in the first half when the Profs led 4-0 at the break, and 23-2 in the second half when Rowan added five more goals.

All three of NJCU's shots were on goal. It was the fourth consecutive shutout posted by Rowan and eighth in 11 games this year. Rowan has outscored opponents by a colossal 48-4 margin this year. The Profs extended their consecutive scoreless minutes streak to 439:12.

Rookie keeper
Cidney Lee-Sam (Old Bridge, NJ/Old Bridge) had 13 saves for NJCU—one more than her previous high of 12 on September 15 against Ramapo.

Rowan had 25 players see action and seven of its goals were unassisted. The winner came in the ninth minute by junior forward
Daria Jones (Jackson, N.J.). Freshman forward
Jessica Beck (Glassboro, N.J.), one of two players to score twice, netted the second goal in the 23rd minute before adding another on a PK in the 67th frame. Senior forward
Cathryn McCarry (Sewell, N.J.) scored back-to-back tallies in the 59th and 61st minutes—the quickest consecutive goals in the game.

Aidan Sheehan (Hamilton Square, N.J.) and sophomore mid

Darah Wagner (Hamilton, N.J.) and freshman back
Grace Massell (Red Bank, N.J.) picked up the only two assists.

Shelby Money (Vineland, N.J.) made three saves to preserve the shutout.

- Lee-Sam reached double figures in saves for the second time this year.

- NJCU is back at home on Wednesday, October 10 at 4 p.m. when it faces Montclair State University at the Robert L. McNulty Memorial Soccer Field. MSU is 7-2-3 overall (3-1-1 NJAC) and has won three of its last four outings. It will be the 25th meeting (Montclair leads series, 22-2).
