PITMAN, N.J. — With the completion of the women's 2021 New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships this past weekend, the conference officially announced its 2021 All-NJAC teams today, Thursday, May 13. For the New Jersey City University women's track & field squad, sophomore long jumper
Polina Agutina (Evaptoria, Ukraine/Number 6) garnered Second Team accolades after finishing as the runner-up in the event on Saturday, May 8.
Agutina has dominated the long jump in nearly every meet she has competed in this season. On Saturday, the Ukraine native
jumped a distance of 4.98 meters to place second out of 15 competitors — it was her third-best jump of the season and earned her all-conference honors to boot.
Prior to this past weekend, the sophomore
hit a jump of 5.14 meters at the Osprey Twilight on April 30 and
was named NJAC Rookie of the Week for her efforts. Just a week earlier, on April 23, Agutina was able to
notch a jump of 5.16 meters — a career-best — which at the time ranked her 15th in the NCAA Division III Atlantic Region, and currently puts her at 21st.
The NJCU long jumper will compete again later today in the first of the Gothic Knights' two remaining last-chance meets. Agutina will partake in the long jump at The College of New Jersey Last Chance Meet in Ewing, N.J., this afternoon at roughly 2:00 p.m.
