Four Compete for Women's Track & Field at BU's Terrier Classic

BOSTON — The New Jersey City University women's track & field team had a quartet of sprinters compete on day two of the John Thomas Terrier Classic on Saturday, Jan. 27, which was hosted by Boston University. All four NJCU runners achieved personal records on the day.

They all began in the 200-meter dash, led by senior captain Ayriana Young (Jersey City, N.J./McNair Academic), who PRed with a time of 26.69 to place 75th overall. Sophomore Reyanna Henderson (Pemberton, N.J./Pemberton Two) followed with a PR of 26.95 to place 89th. Junior Ashley Adames (Jersey City, N.J./County Prep) PRed as well with a time of 28.59 to place 146th and rookie Alonah Olden (Lake George, N.Y./Lake George) ran the event for just the second time as a collegian, posting a PR of 31.56.

The three of them then competed in the 400-meter dash, once again led by a PR from Young, who placed 67th with a time of 1:01.64. Henderson again followed her, this time in 76th with a PR of 1:02.33. Adames closed it out with a time of 1:06.04.

Up Next:
Both NJCU squads return to action on Friday, Feb. 2, at The Armory in New York for the New York University Division III Invitational. Action is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m.
