New Jersey City University women's track and field team rested several key athletes at the Fasttrack National Invitational on Friday, February 14 in Staten Island, N.Y. but still saw some personal records across their roster.

Freshman sprinter,
Shaneeka Benekin (Jersey City, NJ/Lincoln), starred in the 200 Meter Dash, running 27.88 to finish just outside the top half of a crowded field.Â

Benekin with PRs were:
Tiffany Ortiz (Jersey City, NJ/University Academy Charter) in the 200M,
April Gutierrez (Jersey City, NJ/Dickinson) in the 800M,
Annaliza Lagman (Jersey City, NJ/Ferris) in the 60M Hurdles,
Maera Ochieng-Onyango (Montclair, NJ/Montclair) in the 200M, and
Violeta Sanders (Jersey City, NJ/Hudson Catholic) in the 200M.Â
