STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | The
New Jersey City University women's track and field team competed at the Fastrack Last Chance Invitational at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Friday, February 28. The team collected several personal records and had a few near-misses for ECAC Championship qualification.
Â
Sophomore sprinter
Shania Robinson (Jersey City, NJ/Snyder) and freshman sprinter
Lamya Young (Audubon, NJ/Audubon) both collected strong enough times to qualify but both had already qualified earlier in the season.Â
Â
Robinson finished 10th place in the 400 Meter Dash with a time of 1:00.70.
Young finished 16th in the 60 Meter Dash with a time of 8.25.
Â
The Gothic Knights also got PRs from freshmen:Â
Xarial Chandler (East Orange, NJ/University) in the 500 Meter Run (1:28.82),
Shaneeka Benekin (Jersey City, NJ/Lincoln) in the 500 (1:29.72),

Tiffany Ortiz (Jersey City, NJ/University Academy Charter) in the 400 (1:02.99), and
Polina Agutina in the Long Jump (4.38).
