STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | The
New Jersey City University women's track and field team competed at the 2019-20 New Jersey Athletic Conference Indoor Championships at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on February 24. The team finished with 10 points to take ninth place, a one-spot improvement from their 2018-19 NJAC Indoor Championships finish.

Collecting points for the Gothic Knights were:
Shania Robinson (Jersey City, NJ/Snyder) in the 200, with a time of 26.59, good for seventh, as well as all four of the NJCU relay teams.

The best relay finish for NJCU was a fifth-place finish in the 4x400-Meter Relay, with the lineup composed of:
Robinson,
Tiffany Ortiz (Jersey City, NJ/University Academy Charter),
Zahria Thomas (Jersey City, N.J./Dickinson), and
Violeta Sanders (Jersey City, NJ/Hudson Catholic).Â

The Knights grabbed a pair of points in the 4x200-Meter Relay, thanks to a seventh-place finish from a lineup consisting of:
Robinson,
Ortiz,
Shaneeka Benekin (Jersey City, NJ/Lincoln), and
Thomas. The other two relay teams took eighth.
Â
The Knights competed in 12 other events, with an 11th place finish from
Ortiz in the 400-Meter Dash, with a time of 1:03.82.Â
Five different Knights collected PRs on the day:
Robinson in the 200;
Ortiz in the 400;
Giovania Jones (Newark, NJ/Columbia) in the 60;
Annaliza Lagman (Jersey City, NJ/Ferris) in the 60 Meter Hurdles; and
Arame Diouf (Weehawken, NJ/Memorial) in the High Jump.
