Sophomore setter ALEX JOHANESEN (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) is the NJCU Women's Athlete of the Week for the second time this season and the third time in her career as she helped spark the Gothic Knights to a 25-12, 25-18, 25-11 sweep of Kean University on September 30 as NJCU ran its New Jersey Athletic Conference regular season winning streak to 15 consecutive games and held on to a share of first place in the league at 4-0.

Johanesen continued to pace the offense with 27 assists and four more service aces. She ran her streak of consecutive matches with at least one ace to 17, and now has three or more aces in 8-of-13 outings this year. NJCU tallied a kill on 43.5 percent of her sets.

Behind her, NJCU reached double figures in aces for the third straight match, finishing with 12—the seventh time this year the Gothic Knights have floored 10 or more aces.

Johanesen is currently second in the NJAC in assists per set (9.28) with 399 helpers in 43 games, and ranks third in service aces at 0.86, with 37.
