Has been a follower of Gothic sports since his undergraduate days in the mid-1960’s. He co-founded the Alumni Athletic Committee in 1969 and has been chairman since 1973. He has researched and maintained Gothic athletic history data, has provided much of the information for Hall of Fame candidates, and is mainly responsible for the publication of the football game program. He co-founded the Gothic Inner-Circle Club in 1977 and has served as its president since that date. Under his direction this group contributed the championship basketball banners that hang in Fries Gym, jackets for the women’s championship fencing team in 1978 and player of the game awards in basketball. He also was instrumental in various fund raising activities that enabled the Alumni Athletic Committee to award full tuition scholarships for football, basketball, and baseball and women’s fencing prior to the NCAA rule prohibiting scholarships at Division III colleges. Contributions have also been made to other athletic teams for various equipment and supplies. In addition, Nick has given much time and support to numerous athletic activities and projects, as well as serving as a member of various athletic department committees.
