New Jersey City University Athletics

Al participated in both baseball and basketball from 1958 to 1960. A 1965

graduate of Jersey City State, Al served as to the Director of Athletics and boys basketball coach at Holy Family High School in Union City from 1960 to 1965. He guided his team to state championship titles in 1960-61, 1961-62, and 1964-65 and section titles in 1960-61, 1961-62, 1962-63, and 1964-65. He then coached at Bridgewater High School in Somerset County from 1996 to 1970. Al was named the County’s Coach of the Year in 1967-68. From 1970 to 1986, he was a basketball official before accepting a position on the NJSIAA Committee and two years on the Eligibility Appeals Committee. Al is currently the Superintendent of Schools for the Mainland Regional High School District.
