New Jersey City University Athletics

Steve played varsity basketball for three years under Coach Larry Schiner. He is the only player in college history to be a member of both the 1,000 Point Club and 1,000 Rebound Club. He is the fourth all-time scorer with 1,254 points and his career rebounding mark stands at 1,095.  He also holds the record for most rebounds in one season -382- in ‘70-’71. Steve’s honors at Jersey City included First Team All New Jersey-New York in 1972 and 1973; First Team New Jersey All-State College Division in 1972; and first Team All Conference in 1972 and 1973. Perhaps, his greatest team honor came in 1973 when the Gothics won the N.J.S.C.A.C. title and qualified for the N.C.A.A. Division II-III Easter Regionals.
