    Coach, Director of Athletics

Tom is honored for his long time contributions to intercollegiate athletics at Jersey City State College. Perhaps, his greatest coaching accomplishments at Jersey City were that he coached back to back National Intercollegiate Championships in Women's Fencing (1942-1943). These titles must certainly be considered among the most significant in Jersey City State history. As director of athletics, from 1958-1977, he developed a comprehensive intercollegiate athletic program for men and women. He served as the college’s first coach in cross country, track and field, and soccer. His 1964 his cross country team won a N.J.S.C.A.C. title. Today, Tom is enjoying a life of leisurely retirement in New Jersey and Maine with his wife and family. He serves as Jersey City State’s official “Good Will Ambassador” at Shore Area high schools.
