Antonio was a four-year starter at JCSC and was considered an “outstanding player” according to teammate and Hall of Famer Tom Briscoe. An All-Conference performer in 1965 and 1966, Antonio averaged six assists a year each year while playing halfback. He was team co-captain in his senior year with Briscoe. During his four-year playing career, the Gothics posted a 31-7-1 record. In 1974, Antonio became the head soccer coach at Randolph High School in Morris County. At Randolph, he compiled a 197-65-18 record in 15 years and guided his team to the state sectional title games in 1982, 1985, and 1986. His best year came in 1985 when the team went 22-1 and was ranked number one in the state until they lost in the sectional finals to Scotch Plains. Antonio received the Outstanding Coach Award by Soccer Coaches of America (SCOA) in 1984. He is currently working for New York Mercantile on Wall Street. Antonio holds a National “B” license and plans to go back to coaching in the near future.
