Bob enters the Hall of Fame for his outstanding leadership and contributions to high school athletics. Prior to assuming his present position as Executive Director of the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association in 1980, he served for six years on the Association’s Advisory Committee and three years on their Controversies Committee. One of Bob’s greatest contributions as Executive Director of NJSIAA was the reorganization and restructuring of leagues and conferences within the state. Additionally, he has been instrumental in refining the various championship tournaments. Bob also served on the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Special Olympics. On the national level, Bob serves as a member of the National Federation of State High School Association’s Football Rules Committee and has initiated New Jersey representation on other national rules committees; serves with Chairman Bowie Kuhn as Vice President of the National Target Program; and has been a keynote speaker at statewide athletic administrator meetings across the country, as well as featured speaker at the National Convention of the NFSHSA. As an undergraduate, Bob played baseball and basketball. He captained the 1961 basketball team which won the first conference championship in JCSC history. He received both the Sportsmanship and Outstanding college athlete award in 1961.
