Ralph was a three-sport athlete at Jersey City State.  A four-year letter-winner in baseball, he earned All-Conference honors as a centerfielder in 1962.  That year, the Gothics won the conference championship.  He was captain in his final two seasons and had a career batting average of .300.  Ralph played every position on the diamond at some point during the four years.  A versatile athlete, he was also an outstanding goaltender in soccer for two seasons (1960-1961), allowing less than two goals per game.  In 1961, the Gothics captured the conference championship.  Ralph also played basketball in his freshman and sophomore years.  After graduation, he coached baseball at North Bergen High School from 1966 to 1976 and has been a high school basketball official for the past 19 years.  Ralph is currently a teacher in the North Bergen school system.
