Bill fenced for Jersey City State during its infant years and received four varsity letters.  He had a winning record in the foil event during his collegiate career and finished second in the 1961 NAIA Regional Tournament. After graduation, Bill started fencing clubs at Memorial High School in West New York, NJ, and later at Cumberland County College. He also helped start the South Jersey Division of the Amateur Fencing League of America. Bill continued to fence after college and became the foil champion of the South Jersey Division AFLA and qualified for Mid-Atlantic and National Tournaments a number of times. He is currently an associate professor of science at Cumberland County College and is the advisor for the fencing club at the school.
