Ms. Vollkommer’s contributions during her senior year helped the Lady Gothics to a fifth place finish in the National Collegiate Women’s Fencing Championships. Additionally, the team captured the Eastern Collegiate Seaboard Championships and tied for first place in the IWFA ratings. They were rated New Jersey’s number one women’s team while posting a 14-1 record.

For the past 10 years, Linda has been the women’s fencing coach at Stevens Institute of Technology and has been honored as the NIWF Coach-of-the-Year. In 1984, her team was the only Division III school to qualify for the NCAA women’s championships. Still active as a fencer, she won the New Jersey Division Championship of the U.S. Fencing Association in 1983 and went on to participate in the USFA Nationals in San Francisco. Linda was a candidate for the 1984 U.S. Olympic Fencing Team.
