Jennifer Barletta '15 | Softball (1998–2001)

Jennifer Barletta of Edison, N.J. is the standard by which NJCU softball offensive excellence is measured. A three-time First-Team All-NJAC selection — earning Blue Division honors in 1999 and 2000 and at-large recognition at first base in 2001 — Barletta was named NJAC Player of the Year (Blue Division) in 2000 and capped her career with a 2001 East Region Third-Team All-American selection, having also earned All-Atlantic Region Third Team honors as a freshman in 1998. The Gothic Knights' career leader in hits (206), RBI (169), batting average, doubles, triples, home runs, total bases and slugging percentage, Barletta redefined what offensive production looked like at NJCU — and she was known for hitting some of the longest home runs ever seen in Jersey City.

Her senior season alone stands as one of the finest individual campaigns in program history. Barletta led the New Jersey Athletic Conference in RBI for the second consecutive year, posting 50 — surpassing her own single-season school record of 48 set in 2000 — while ranking fourth in the league in batting average at .450 (49-for-109). She also ranked among the conference leaders in home runs (6), triples (3), doubles (10), runs scored (25) and slugging percentage (.761), accumulating 83 total bases while going a perfect 10-for-10 in stolen base attempts and posting a .964 fielding percentage across all 36 games. She was honored as both NJAC Player of the Week and ECAC Hitter of the Week on April 2 of that season. From first base, Barletta anchored the Gothic Knights' lineup for four years and left a legacy that remains unmatched in the NJCU record books.
